Which bike fits your height
Tell us your height when you book and we reserve a bike in the right size before you arrive. Here's what each bike fits, in centimetres and in feet and inches.
Perfect fit, close fit
What does perfect fit mean?
A frame where you sit with a slight bend in the knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke and can stand over the bike with both feet flat. When you give your height while booking, we reserve a bike whose perfect range covers it.
What does close fit mean?
A frame slightly smaller than your perfect one, ridden with the saddle a little lower. It rides comfortably; it's what we offer when every perfect-size bike is booked for your dates.
Why is a smaller bike fine but a bigger one not?
A frame you can't stand over is unsafe: you need to put a foot down at every light. A frame one size small only means a lower saddle. So we'll give you a slightly smaller bike, never a bigger one.
How we do it
Each bike we own has a size, and each size a range of rider heights it fits perfectly and a wider range it fits acceptably. When you book with a height, the booking reserves a bike in your perfect size for every day of your rental. If every bike in that size is taken on your dates, the booking page says so and offers three ways forward: a close fit, the nearest dates where your size is free, or another bike type in your size, with 10% off when it costs more. If you skip the height, we do our best when you arrive.
